“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” Romans 8:11
Hello everyone! I hope that you all are having a wonderful start to 2020, and that all is well with you. Our youth are busy as ever, as we had a great month of February and are looking forward to all that March will bring! During the month of March, we began a new Wednesday night series entitled “Weird Stories From the Bible, and Why They Matter For Us Today.” The Bible is filled with all sorts of weird, obscure, and just plain strange stories, and it is our prayer that through this series, our students may realize the importance and significance that these stories have on our own lives today. In addition to this, we are working through new Sunday school material, collectively going through studies in the YouVersion Bible app, in hopes of better connecting with one another on Sundays, as well as throughout the week. A breakfast signup sheet is posted on the hallway bulletin board, and we would be especially grateful for any who are willing/able to help provide breakfast. There are all sorts of things we are doing as a youth group, and as always, we welcome any and all students in grades 6-12 to join us for our weekly activities or special events. Be sure to stay up to date with all we are doing through the Remind messaging system. Thanks for all you do!
Upcoming dates to be aware of:
Wednesday night Youth @ NCBC, 6-7pm, each week (unless otherwise noted)
Ellington Youth Night @ Ellington Studios, 4/24, 7-9pm - CANCELED
Formatted similarly to the 2020 church goals, the Youth have compiled our own goals for our group over the next year. These goals are:
1) Completion of the NCBC Family Life Center – a space that can better accommodate our youth and church family
2) Engage in intentional mission/outreach projects to serve our community and spread God’s love to all
3) Become more biblically educated/literate – especially on obscure or rarely mentioned Bible stories & books
4) Continued development of unity within our group
Please join us in prayer as we strive toward these goals for the upcoming year, to be the best youth group we can be, and most im-portantly, the youth group God calls us to be.
Love and blessings, Christian
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
