“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

1 Timothy 4:12

Youth News July 2021:

By the time this newsletter is published, I imagine many of our youth will be attending Passport at Furman University, in Greenville, SC. As you well know, summer camp is always a highlight for our youth – it comes with lots of fun, and it also comes with lots of transformation. Considering that we were unable to attend camp last year due to COVID, I am especially excited for our time at camp this summer; I am excited to spend time with our students, and excited to experience God’s work in our lives. Once again, on behalf of all our youth, truly, I cannot thank Neill’s Creek enough for the continual support that’s been shown for our youth’s summer trip to Passport. Without your help, we would be unable to have such an experience together, and for that, we are inexpressibly grateful. Please pray for the students, chaperones, and camp leaders involved with Passport this year; pray for wellbeing, for fun, and, above all, for a transformational experience with Jesus Christ. Already I look forward to sharing how God has worked in the lives of these students upon our return!          In other news, as usual, our youth have a variety of events planned for the summer. We were able to celebrate with seven graduates on graduate recognition Sunday, we kicked off the end of the school year with a pool party, and we will continue to stay active with ice-cream trips, slip-n-slide nights, a beach day trip, a weekend kayaking trip, worship nights, and more. All students from 6th -12th grades are welcome to join us for any of these activities – be sure to stay connected to our Remind messaging system for the latest youth news!

Formatted similarly to the church goals, the Youth have compiled our own goals for our group. These goals are:

1) Completion of the NCBC Family Life Center – a space that can better accommodate our youth and church family
2) Engage in intentional mission/outreach projects to serve our community and spread God’s love to all
3) Become more biblically educated/literate – especially on obscure or rarely mentioned Bible stories & books
4) Continued development of unity within our group

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”     Galatians 2:20
